Roy Fox Lichtenstein, born October 27, 1923 in Manhattan (New York), and died September 29, 1997 in Manhattan, is one of the most important artists of the American pop art movement. His works are heavily influenced by both popular advertising and the imagery of his time, as well as comics (comics). He himself described his style as being as artificial as possible.
