Pierre Seinturier, born in 1988, graduated from the National School of Decorative Arts in 2011. He has exhibited at the gallery since 2014, after winning the special prize from the Montrouge jury. His work was presented during the 12th Lyon Biennale, at the Museum of Fabrics and Decorative Arts in 2013, as well as in the Modules hors-les-murs at the Palais de Tokyo. He also benefited from a personal exhibition at the Saint-Etienne museum, and participated in numerous institutional exhibitions, such as the one organized by Fabrice Bousteau on the occasion of the 2022 edition of Lille 3000: Le Serpent Cosmique.

Pierre Seinturier captures the decisive moment in his paintings: a man slumped on the deck of a boat, an ax at his feet; a couple embracing on the outskirts of a forest, a woman's back waving in the direction of an isolated house after dark... A big reader of thrillers and a fan of film noir, the artist likes to create scenarios left in the shadow of a falsely peaceful atmosphere. With his camera eye, he plays with the idea of off-camera and often places us face to face with an absence, a latent tension, an interstice in the middle of a story of which we will know neither the plot nor the 'issue.

The artist plays with the notions of contrast, depth of field and framing. Caught between dog and wolf, the works of Pierre Seinturier are elusive, indeterminate in time and space. The artist explores different techniques: collage, ink, pencil, oil, pastel… The materials and colors, always dense, create relief and take over the surface of the painting. Sometimes, the characters and the action escape, giving way to lush vegetation, a raging sea under a stormy sky, and many other mysterious landscapes.
