VINCENT René ( René Masel )

René Vincent was born in Bordeaux in 1879. He was the son of novelist Charles Vincent (who signed his works under the name Peter Mael), and younger brother of the painter Henri Vincent Anglade. He was an illustrator, poster designer, painter and watercolorist. His work was also known through the pseudonyms Rene Mael, Rageot and Dufour, allowing him to change his style to his liking. After studying at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, he began his career with an architect. During his studies he discovered his talent as an illustrator. This passage in this famous school probably explains the thoroughness and realism with which he learned throughout his life represent cars. We find his name in other periodic fashion and worldliness: L'Illustration, Femina, Le Rire, Fantasio, etc. ... His meeting with the brothers Draeger was decisive. These artists printers propelled into the path of his choice. A trip to the United States provided him the opportunity to assert his style. He worked for the prestigious Saturday Evening Magazine and Harper's Bazaar. a multitude of posters and advertisements are produitent. His clients had to name Shell, St Raphael, Au Bon Marché, Balto, Evian, etc ... One of the master art deco poster designer.
