Italian racing trophy from the 1920s, an allegory of a woman saluting the speed of the winning rider!
A splendid sculpture of beautiful quality and fine detail.
MAS MOTORCYCLE HISTORY
MAS, named after its engineer-creator, Motocicli Alberico Seiling, but also its motto: Memento Audere Semper (in Latin: remember that one must always dare), operated in Milan from 1922 to 1956.
Its first model was a 125cc four-stroke with two speeds and overhead valves.
At the end of 1925, MAS extended this model with a 175cc overhead valve (coupled with a 150cc), remarkable for its rare cast-iron-lined aluminum cylinder.
It had a three-speed gearbox and reached 60 km/h.
MAS even crossed borders, and 175s were seen at the Paris-les-Pyrénées-Paris and Paris-Nice races in 1934, then at the Paris-Roubaix in 1935.
