COUZINET AGENCY MODEL 70 RAINBOW
The Couzinet 70 Rainbow III made its first flight on February 11, 1932. On January 16, 1933, piloted by Jean Mermoz and accompanied by Couzinet himself, the Couzinet 70 (registered F-AMBV) crossed the South Atlantic from Saint-Louis-du-Sénégal to Natal in 14 h 32 min for 3,173 km or an average of 227 km/h. The return takes place from May 15 to May 21, where the arrival at Le Bourget is triumphant in front of 15,000 people. Between crossings the plane undergoes significant modifications. The fuselage will be changed the plane becomes Le Couzinet 71
The aircraft was then operated by Air France and made a total of 8 commercial crossings of the South Atlantic.
Unfortunately, official state orders for the company were canceled without any reason, causing the manufacturer's ruin. The device was sold at auction in 1935.
