Rare Bronze representing the famous striker Angelo Schiavo of the squadra Azzurra world champion in 1934, scorer in the final .

It is the shield of the House of Savoy which is represented here rather than the flag during the monarchical period. The fascist regime having interfered in the affairs of football, both literally and figuratively, it had its symbol placed next to the royal emblem on the jersey of the Nazionale, which is on the squadra player's jersey.

Italy, under the fascist yoke of Mussolini since 1922, obtained the organisation of the first World Cup played in Europe, in 1934.

Uruguay, the defending champion, boycotted the tournament in retaliation for the attitude of the Europeans four years earlier, just like England, the inventor of the game, which persisted in its isolation. Coach Vittorio Pozzo relied on nine players from Juventus of Turin (then known as Nazio-Juve), including strikers Giovanni Ferrari and Raimundo Orsi and midfielder Luis Monti, who played in the first World Cup under Argentinian colours.

Pozzo also called on the services of striker Giuseppe Meazza, a member of the Ambrosiana (later Inter Milan) which would later give its name to the Milan stadium.
