Lincoln is a US-based luxury car brand founded in 1917. The brand is owned by the American automaker Ford since 1922. The Lincoln brand was founded in 1917 in Detroit by Henry M. Leland, the founder of Cadillac. After the First World War, Henry Leland began to establish himself as a luxury car manufacturer, but he suffered major financial woes. The company was bought by Henry Ford in 1922 as its prestigious division. If US presidents Warren Harding and Calvin Coolidge each own a Lincoln L (in 1921 and 1924, respectively), it was not until 1939 that Lincoln became the official supplier of the White House to Franklin. Delano Roosevelt. Named "Sunshine Special", the car is specially built to be the parade car of the President's official travels. This tradition continues until President George Bush Sr. The brand is associated with President John Fitzgerald Kennedy, murdered in the back of his Lincoln Continental X-100 in Dallas on November 22, 1963.
