History of the SLR 300

It is the most expensive car in the world sold at auction at Sotheby’s.

The record was set in May 2022, during a private auction organized by Sotheby's Europe.

Auctioned at 135 million euros, the Mercedes 300 SLR Uhlenhaut has not only become the most expensive car of 2022, but also the most expensive of all time!

Deprived of a circuit, the SLR 300 Uhlenhaut became the luxurious company vehicle of its creator, the engineer Uhlenhaut. An amateur driver, he claims to have reached a speed of 254 kilometers per hour on the highway.

The vehicle, owned by Mercedes, then entered the collection of the brand's museum in Stuttgart.
